The Pai João Culture and Art Centre proposes building a community of learning and affection with children, teenagers, their families and community, where, through activities, artistic and cultural experiences, new possibilities of being and doing are experienced. Education, in a holistic and complex perspective, which is based on the concept that each person constructs their own identity, meaning and purpose of life, through interconnections (deep connections) with themselves and with the relationships they establish with the world.
In this sense, the proposed actions are designed to stimulate self-knowledge and the interaction of the participants with families, the community and all other forms of life, through exchanges of knowledge, to foster constructions of new visions of being, where the relationships established between the various, or infinite parts, of a universal whole can be observed and valued, corroborating with the transversality inherent in the practice of educational art with a focus on the process and not only on the final artistic and cultural product.
The community of Pituaçu and its surroundings have strong social contrasts. If on the one hand the middle class has access to the most diverse services and leisure, on the other hand, those who are in economic and social vulnerability do not have access to these same opportunities, generating aggravations that may lead to the weakening and even the breaking of family and community policies.
We are aware of our role in building a just society, committed to social inclusion, always instilling the notion of citizenship and belonging.
